| We are a free and independent church, true to Scripture and in the Congregational tradition. What does that mean?
† We are an independent group of gathered Christians. We have no bishop or synod to which we are responsible. We are responsible only to Jesus Christ as Lord of the Church.
† We are people of the open Word of God. We are people who attempt to gain insight into the Christian faith and life in general through the Bible. We believe the Bible to be the Word of God.
† We are people who are part of the Congregational Way of “Faith, Freedom, and Fellowship”. This heritage dates back to the Pilgrims, who risked their lives for the freedom to worship. It is a tradition that has stayed free to be alert to the needs of people and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in meaningful prayer and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in meaningful ways.
† In order to share in the Congregational Way with sister churches throughout the nation, we are members of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and the Iowa/Nebraska Churches. |
