Carols with Cathie Fellowship Gathering – December 2020

Nationally renowned singer Cathie Taylor will discuss her career and faith journey at a First Fellowship meeting at 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday at First Congregational Church in Clear Lake.

The public is invited to participate online at Facebook at First CongregationalClearLake or socially distanced in the church sanctuary at 923 Buddy Holly Place. 

Taylor’s singing talent was discovered at the age of 12 at a talent contest in California. She went on to  appear on The Breakfast Club, The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show, The Lawrence Welk Show, Five Star Jubilee, The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Show in 1962, and Alfred Hitchcock’s Presents. She appeared in the 1963 film Hootenanny Hoot, sang on Shindig! In 1965 and won awards from the Academy of Country Music in 1966 as the Most Promising Female Vocalist and in 1968 as the Best Female Vocalist.

She turned to gospel music in the 1970s and sang on The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network cable network. Taylor released the CD “Praising My Savior” in 2010.
